Anna Vernessa Davidson Adams, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother returned to her Heavenly Father on March 17, 2026 at the age of 101. She was born on December 14, 1924 in
Idaho Falls, Idaho. She first lived in Parker, Idaho and when 8 years old, the family moved to Egin, Idaho. She enjoyed school and particularly reading and helped with farm chores. She began piano lessons and piano playing was an important part of her life. In high school, she enjoyed participating in the school plays.
She graduated from Edmunds High School and attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho in 1942. Later, in 1943 she transferred to BYU with Zoology as her major and chemistry as a minor. She enjoyed the cultural activities and made life-long friends. After graduation in 1946, she went to the University of Texas in Austin Texas with a fellowship for research in cancer.
It was in Austin that she met Alden Ranard Adams and they were married April 2, 1948. They had 6 daughters and welcomed David into their family when he was 6 years old. Anna was a dedicated mother, teaching her daughters to can and sew, and to love reading books. Her home was a happy place. She was a good artist and her daughters loved the paper dolls she would create for them. She enjoyed making patchwork quilts for her children and grandchildren.
Anna was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her service in the Church began as ward clerk as a teenager when her father was in the bishopric. And throughout her life, she always had a calling in the Church including serving as Relief Society President. Family nights were a weekly event as counseled by the Church and her children were taught the principles of the gospel in the home. Alden and Anna served as ordinance workers in the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temples. They also served 2 full-time missions for the Church, one in London, England and the other in Adelaide, Australia and a service mission in Member Location with Anna continuing for another year after Alden's passing.
She always took an interest in her grandchildren. Every month for years, all the college students, local families and any families visiting were invited to their house for a monthly birthday party where she made a full 2 layer cake for each who had a birthday that month and served with many options of ice cream. Often, during the summer, they had 1, 2 or 3 college age grandchildren staying with them. She treasured all visits to her in the 22 years of widowhood and the years that her niece, Debbie and her family lived with her. After moving to Farmington she loved all the visits from her large family, both those locally who could come often and those that came when they could on special occasions and when they were in town. Her final years were brightened not only by family but by the caring and compassionate residents and staff at her home at Covington Senior Living.
We miss having her with us and treasure all memories of her and her love for us.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Alden, her daughters Andrea, Carolyn and Ilene and her great-granddaughter, Tabitha.
She is survived by her daughters Janet (Dennis) Broderick, Karen (Neal) Ashbridge, and Barbara (Pat) Evans and her son, David (Nola) Adams. She has 39 grandchildren, 115 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
