Born in No Grosvenordale, CT, on January 9, 1932, she was the daughter of Ovila and Maria (Aucoin) Audette. Sister entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1952 and made her final profession in 1958. She served the Congregation for 62 years.
Sister Anna began serving the community ironing the caps when the Sisters had the traditional religious habit. Later she was sent to study and earned her BA from Notre Dame College in Manchester.
Sister Anna taught in elementary parochial schools for a number of years. She was always very attentive to the poor and lonely child. For many summers Sister was a presence at the La Salette Shrine in Enfiled, NH and is remembered for the kindness and help she offered to the pilgrims there.
When Holy Cross Health Center opened in 1983, Sister Anna was among the first LNAs where she worked the evening shift for several years.
From 1994 to 2012 Sister Anna resided at the Holy Cross Community in Londonderry. During those years, she was a volunteer at the Elliot Hospital visiting the sick. Sister also knitted many items for the hospital as well as for the needy. At this same time she was also doing sewing and mending for St. George Manor and HCHC.
In 2012 Sister was transferred to Holy Cross Health Center because of ill health.
She is survived by her sisters Sr. Louise Audette of Manchester and Odela Campbell of Putnam, CT; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. George Manor Chapel, Manchester. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
