Anna J. Borntreger, 74
HARTLY - Anna J. Borntreger passed away peacefully, Monday, September 12, 2022, in Bayhealth Sussex Campus, surrounded by her loving family.
Anna was born March 7, 1948 in Dover, DE to the late Jonas & Lydia (Miller) Hershberger.
She had worked at Faulkners Store, and Legars I.G.A, before owning the Petersburg Store.
In her later years, Anna was a caregiver to many in their homes. In her free time she liked to travel, and watch her Hummingbirds & Cardinals; but her favorite thing to do was loving, and spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She could smile with her eyes, and was affectionately known as "mom" to many.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Henry Borntreger, Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Elsie Nicole.
Anna was one of 12 siblings, David, Sam, Esther, Atlee, Menno, Rosa, Alvin, Malvin, Calvin, Lester, and Jonas, Jr.
Anna is survived by her husband of 39 years & father of her children, Joseph Henry Borntreger, Sr.; and five daughters, Ada Morris-Phillips (Douglas), of Dover, Arlene Kathy Borntreger, of Dover, Barbara Willis (Edward), of Hartly, Rose Thomas, of Appling, Georgia, and Susan Raye Borntreger, of Hartly; 16 grandchildren & 31 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the Staff at Bayhealth /Sussex Campus for their compassion, and wonderful care provided to Anna.
Funeral Services will be held 12 noon, Monday, September 19, 2022, in Maranatha Fellowship, 60 Deer Track Lane, Dover, DE; where family and friends may view from 10am-12pm. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
