Anna Marie Braye, 71, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, January 5, 2026. Funeral services for Anna will be held at 12 pm, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Assalley Funeral Home, 118 E. College Ave.,
Greenville, Il. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to noon, prior to the funeral service. Burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery will follow the service.
A devoted wife, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Anna will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to the love of her life, Wayne Richard "Dick" Braye.
Anna graduated from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, with a degree in theater arts. She became a self-taught seamstress, served as CEO of Goodwill Industries in
Lubbock, TX and was a successful grant writer for Kids for Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Braye; parents, Raymond and Vera Wall; step-son, Brad Braye; brothers, Buddy (Ray Jr.) Wall and Jimmy Wall; sister, Cindy Vande Ried, and mother-in-law, Hattie Siebert.
Anna is survived by her stepchildren, Bryan (Jennifer) Braye and Dena (Phil) Wesley; siblings, Andy (Sheri) Wall, Susan (Mike) Hutt, Dinia (Dan) Sampson, Jackie Lobstein, and Aaron Zappe; grandchildren, Chelsi (Bryce) Parsons, Brandon (Raeshelle) Braye, Carlee Braye, Kyle Wesley, Chelsea (Derek) Toohey, Alex Franklin, Jayda Braye; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved rescue cocker spaniel, Toby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given at the visitation and/or funeral. Checks may be made payable to: Kids Community Bible Study, 204 N. Potter St.,
Freeburg, IL. 62243. Kids for Christ is an after-school program devoted to sharing Jesus with young children. The program brought great joy, especially when her own great-grandchildren were able to participate.
The family has entrusted Assalley Funeral Home in Greenville with the ceremonies.
