A funeral Mass for Anna Zita Brown, 92, formerly of West Bend, will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Divine Mercy Parish ~ St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend. Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Friday at the church. Burial will be at West Bend Cemetery.

Born May 29, 1933, in rural West Bend, she was the youngest child of Joseph V. and Frances (Fogarty) Montag.

After graduating from West Bend High School in 1952, she attended college in Des Moines before returning to West Bend and married Rex Brown on June 10, 1953.

The couple made their home on the farm west of the community for decades before moving into West Bend in 1997.

Anna Zita worked at West Bend Ford for a number of years while her children attended school. She was a long-time member of SSPP Ladies Aid and held many offices in the organization. She was also a 25+ year member of the local T.O.P.S. organization. She greatly enjoyed the friendships she made in the group.

Anna Zita Brown, 92, passed away January 30, 2026, at Mill Pond Care Center, Ankeny. She had been a resident there since October 2020.

She is survived by her children Daniela Doty of Ankeny, Nan (Curt) Klouse of Polk City, Larry (Renita) Brown of West Bend, and Renee (Tim) Dailey of Princeton, MO; 11 grandchildren, Ryan (Rachael) Doty of Ankeny, Katherine (Ryan) Garrett of Ankeny, Jason (Lindsay) Klouse of Ankeny, Amber (Adam) Rogers of Polk City, Eric Klouse of Clive, Ashley Brown of Grinnell, Heather Brown of Grinnell, Megan Brown of Volga, SD, Sarah Brown of Mason City, Hannah (Ethan) Darneal-Berger of Princeton, MO and Drew Dailey of Princeton, MO; 10 great grandchildren, Ethan and Everly Doty, Ella and Mya Garrett, Amelia and Maddox Klouse, Peyton and Carley Rogers and Lettie and Beck Berger; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex on December 1, 2013, her daughters Karen Diane on September 19, 1963, and Faith Ann on February 22, 2025; a son-in-law, Kevin Doty on April 17, 2020; her parents; and her nine siblings; Helen Ladd, James Montag, Thomas Montag, Mary Bea Besch, Maurice Montag, Vincent Montag, Richard Montag, Emmet Montag and Jerald Montag.
