Anna Findling Obituary

Anne Marie Findling, 87, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, and Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025.

Anne was born in Brooklyn on August 20, 1938 to Ralph and Adelina Filomena Fiandra. She treasured her childhood, living in Brooklyn and enjoying their summer home on the Jersey shore, swimming, assisting in the garden and helping to host family and friends. She loved her dog Rocky, and enjoyed playing punchball in the schoolyard with her brothers. She attended St. Joseph's Academy in Brentwood, New York, where she was well-loved, formed many cherished friendships, and religiously attended their reunions.

Following her high school years, Anne married Gennaro (Mario) and soon became the devoted mother of Steven, Ralph and Carolyn, all of whose childhood benefitted from her wonderful personality, patient and able assistance with their homework, and eagerness to hear and support what each was doing every day. Whether it was on the ball field, basketball court as cheerleading coach, driving back and forth to dancing school, helping to organize card parties at the high school, or playing her weekly mahjong games with neighborhood friends, she was enthusiastic, dedicated, responsible and a joy to be around.

Anne married Marvin, and they remained married for 54 years. They enjoyed spending winters in Florida, where she loved swimming, the beach, and lively gatherings with friends at the clubhouse. After spending most of her life in Brooklyn, she later lived in Fairfield for more than a decade, and then in Ridgefield to remain close to family.

Known affectionately as "Auntie Annie" to her nieces and nephews, and as "Annie" to her many friends, she created a sense of belonging wherever she went. Her eggplant parmesan and zucchini pie were legendary. She loved cooking, dancing, and listening to Diana Ross and The Supremes and Frank Sinatra. She cherished every moment spent with her family.

Annie was a beautiful woman inside and out. She loved to laugh and had a warm, effortless sense of humor that filled her home with joy. She showed up for every milestone-dance recitals, school plays, wrestling matches, and graduations. If her children or grandchildren were on a stage, a field, or crossing a graduation stage, she would find a way to get there, always cheering them on, drawing on her earlier experience as a cheerleading coach. She was kind, generous, sociable, and kept a meticulous, welcoming home where everyone felt cared for. Annie loved hosting family during the holidays, Sunday dinners, and throwing birthday parties for family members and for herself! Annie was a gentle warrior, with strength, steadfast determination, and courage. She was the kind of person people naturally gravitated toward.

She also adored her grand dog Charlie, and delighted in slipping him treats, which he accepted with loving devotion.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers Regi and Pluckcedis, for their kindness and dedication.

Mrs. Findling is survived by her three children: Carolyn Parker and her husband, Nik; Steven Stefano and his wife, Christy, and Ralph Stefano and his wife, Patricia. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Natalie Parker, Emily Parker, Marissa Stefano, Jessica Stefano and her husband, Cam Rogers, Matthew Stefano and Jonathan Stefano as well as two great grandchildren, Oliver and Tegan Rogers.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, Marvin Findling, Anne was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Ciro "Jerry" Fiandra.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in the Green-Wood Cemetery; Brooklyn, NY.
