Anna Maxine Goins Jordan

Anna Maxine Goins Jordan, age 92, of Clarkton, NC, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Maxine was born on October 27, 1932 to the late Alex Goins and Mattie Smith Goins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; Ralph Newton Jordan, daughter; Sherri Diana Jordan, sisters; Chrissie White, Eileen Gore, Iris Stephens, and brother; A.G. Goins.
Maxine worked for some 20 years as a substitute teacher. In addition to teaching, she loved to work with her hands crocheting, sewing, cooking, tending to her flowers, and decorating cakes. She served on the women's committee for both Brunswick Electric Membership Co-op and Farm Bureau. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class and Bible Study group at Western Prong Baptist Church where she was a member.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Skye Dawn J. Lewis (Don) of Shallotte, NC and Beth Anna J. Floyd (George) of Lake Waccamaw, NC, her son; Alex Newton Jordan (Tammy) of Clarkton, NC, grandchildren: Jordan Thompson, Ethan Jordan, Cameron Floyd and Tyler Floyd, and great grandchildren: Bella Grace, Caden and Ridge.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Warren Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 pm at the church prior to the service.
The family would like to thank Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to their mother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
