Anna May Iwasko age 69, of Harrisburg passed away on January 30, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Anna was born July 15, 1954 in Harrisburg to John Edward and Benita (Sturam) Iwasko. She graduated from Harrisburg High School with the class of 1972, she enjoyed cheerleading, playing in the band, and the Foreign Study League where she travelled to Europe. Anna had a passion for gymnastics and was a talented writer. She earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University. Anna was caring, loving and very generous.
Anna is survived by her mother, Benta Iwasko; her three sisters, Tina Griffith of Herod; Frances Harry and husband Douglas of Dayton, Ohio; and Mary Iwasko of Harrisburg; nieces and nephew, Angelique Knight and husband Jim of Equality; Rosie Bond and husband Sam of Dayton, Ohio; and Dominic Harry of Dayton, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, Sarah Pitman of Equality, Gracie Knight of Equality, Alex Knight of Equality, Jackson Bond of Dayton, Ohio; and Josie Bond of Dayton, Ohio.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, John Edward Iwasko, two brothers, John Edward Iwasko Jr. and Christopher Iwasko; and her aunt Betty Diefenbach.
Funeral services for Anna May Iwasko will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Father Tom Barrett will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 3 PM, Saturday February 3, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
