With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved Anna Louise Lour, who departed this world peacefully on November 23, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on April 7, 1933, in Neodesha, Kansas, Anna was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Charles and Nora “Louise” Laverty and the loving wife to her soulmate, James Leroy Lour, whom she married on June 3, 1952.
Anna was not only a dedicated wife but also a remarkable mother to eight wonderful children: Christine Brunbige, Rhonda Lewis, Brenda Ellis, Bonnie Baldwin, Cheryl Claibourn, James Lour, Howard Lour and Michelle Thurman. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family. Anna poured herself into motherhood, often sewing beautiful clothes for her daughters' dolls and ensuring each child felt special and loved.
Her strong faith was evident through her commitment to her church, where she taught Sunday school and shared her musical talents by singing and playing the piano and organ for many years. Anna will be fondly remembered for her kind spirit, creativity with Tri-Chem liquid embroidery paints, and the countless joyful moments she created for her family and friends.
Anna leaves behind a legacy of love, evident in her 34 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great-grandchildren who will carry her memory in their hearts. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her daughter Cheryl Claibourn, and her cherished grandchild Jason Claibourn, as well as great-grandchild Breanna Willmon.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Anna's remarkable life. A service will be held at 10:00am on December 1, 2025, at the Nazarene Church in Neodesha, Kansas. We will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears in honor of the love Anna bestowed upon us all.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Anna not only for her passing but for the vibrant, loving spirit she shared with everyone around her. She may be gone from our sight, but she will forever remain in our hearts.
