Anna Moore-Echelmeyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes - Brooksville Chapel on Mar. 2, 2026.
Anna, a name with deep biblical roots, means "grace," "favor," or more specifically, "God has favored me." Everyone who knew Anna May knows this to be quite fitting, because she was a woman who extended grace to everyone.

Anna passed peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026. She spent her final days surrounded by family in her home in Saint Cloud, Florida. She was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in April of 2025, and though the disease took her life, it did not define it, nor did it ever define her spirit.

Born on December 30, 1950, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Anna was the daughter of Hilda Bain and William Fowler Sr., who preceded her in death and patiently waited for her in Heaven.

She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, stubborn determination, colorful storytelling, and a heart that gave endlessly, no matter the circumstances.

Anna loved starting her mornings with coffee and breakfast at one of her favorite spots in town. Her choice of restaurant was often dependent on whether there happened to be a free slice of pie that day (saved, of course, for later). And if she didn't end her day with a chocolate covered strawberry (or five) there was certainly another sweet treat close by.

Her life was built around a sense of adventure, a sweet tooth, and a love for her family that knew no bounds. The simple joys made her happiest: a little time at the casino (because someone had to keep them in business), cruising the open seas, crafting with love, attending church, and doting on her beloved cats. We're certain her cherished Alex and Molly were part of the welcoming committee waiting for her on the other side.

Anna is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Derek Echelmeyer; her children, Michael, Misty, Wayne, and Heather; her grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Ashlee, Allison, Alex, Ivy, Ashley, and Hayden; and her siblings, Diane, Sue, Helen, and William ("Bum").

To know Anna was to know laughter. She could tell a story like no one else - sometimes long, sometimes dramatic, and sometimes just slightly embellished, but always unforgettable. She was funny, fiercely stubborn when she wanted to be, and one of the most giving souls you could ever meet. If she loved you, you knew it.

In another life, Anna would be here for future weddings, births, birthdays, graduations, and the many milestones yet to come, cheering on those she loved as they succeeded. But in this life, she will be there in spirit, just a bit differently.

This will be the longest "see you later" we will ever endure. But how beautiful it is to love someone so much that you would wait a lifetime to see them again. We find comfort in knowing we are still together - just in a different way.
