Anna Laura Stephens Ragan, 87, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel with Pastor Stanley Norman officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Ga. Her family will receive friends and family before the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Clay Spires, Justin Cox, Rick Peters, Jimmy Peters, Jason Ragan, Keaton Stephens, Greg Stephens.
Born on October 31, 1937, in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late George H. Stephens Sr. and Clydie Mae Stephens. She retired from the law firm of Alexander and Van after 44 years of service as a legal secretary. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she loved spending time with her family as well as baking, shopping, gardening, and birdwatching, as she had a passion for all animals. She was a member of The Connection Assembly and previously Glad Tidings in Thomasville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Dallas C. Ragan, her brothers Paul, David T. Stephens and her sister Vesta Stephens Phelps, and her great-granddaughter Heather Ann Cox.
Survivors include her children, Ann Peters, Gary Ragan, and Betty Hurst; brother George Henry Stephens, Jr; 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Legacy Village for all of the love and care shown during her stay.
