Anna Stankowicz

Anna Stankowicz, 92, of McKeesport, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024. She was born in Glassport on August 18, 1932 to the late John and Mary (Bodner) Popovich. She was the wife of the late Anthony Stankowicz, who passed away in June 2000. Anna worked many retail jobs through the years, but her favorite job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. The family would gather at Anna's house on the holidays and every Sunday for dinner. Her stuffed cabbage recipe will remain untouchable. She is survived by her daughters, Lee Ann Powers of McKeesport, and Toni A. Puc of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Erica Powers, Jayme (Jordan Geissler) Puc, and Ashlee (Trevor) Pearsol; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Max, Jameson and Jett; as well as a sister, Helen McBurney; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Anna is preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Sue Stankowicz; and siblings, Joseph, John, Mike and Andrew Popovich, Mary Raisner, Betty Smoot, and Irene Falco.
