Anne J. Lampo Blomme
January 21, 1929-February 7, 2023
Anne J. Lampo Blomme, 94, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the former Heartland, Moline, IL, surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 21, 1929, in East Moline IL, the daughter of Alphons and Mary De Bel Lampo. She graduated in 1947 from Moline Catholic High School, Moline, and worked at Balkin's, a local store.
She married Vernon Blomme May 20, 1950. He passed way January 28, 2019.
Loving to dance, she met her husband Vernon at the Col Ballroom, Davenport, IA, during the Big Band Era. They kept dancing together for nearly 70 years. They were loving and nurturing parents of nine children, instilling structured and disciplined values. All family members played musical instruments, even producing 'The Blomme Band'! Devout faith in the Catholic church was also a great priority.
Anne started and operated her own business, Anne's Pre-School/Day Care Center in Silvis, IL for over 40 years. She passionately educated many children who went on to lead very successful lives! Singing, reading, physical activity, pets and large gardens were always part of her environment.
Traveling with her husband throughout the U.S. and activities associated with Vern being involved at the IHMVCU were also gratifying. Annie loved working local fundraising for church and schools! Keeping herself in good form, she even modeled and was 'Mother of the Year' at one point! Her biggest joys were being with her family. Annie was a very generous, spirited and feisty lady and she will be greatly missed!
Visitation is Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 4-6pm, Rosary at 3pm at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Funeral services will be 10am Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery.
