Anne Bowen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Homes & Crematory - Milton Chapel on Mar. 30, 2026.
Anne McCready Bowen passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on July 3, 1937, in Portland, Maine, to Henry and Elizabeth McCready. After graduating from Maine Central Institute, she married the love of her life, Francis (Frank) Bowen and together they shared 69 beautiful years together. Anne held various jobs while traveling the world with her husband. They spent 20 years in Bermuda raising their daughters and enjoying the island life. In retirement she took many cruises, tutored for the adult literacy program, quilted blankets for the homeless, and participated with the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church choir and fairs. She particularly liked reading on her nook, playing the piano, knitting and crocheting, and spending time with her Tanglewood friends.

Anne, more affectionately known as Nana, will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Bowen; daughter, Brenda Melancon; special niece, Heidi Chubbuck; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Collins and grandson, Beau Melancon. Anne will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Nana by all.

A graveside service will be held on April 7, 2026, at Serenity Gardens, 6208 Stewart Street, Milton, Florida 32570, at 1:00 p.m.
