Anne M. Braun

Anne M. Braun, age 104, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Maplecrest Manor, Ripon, WI.

Anne was born November 20, 1919, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of William and Frances (Kitowski) Jaworski. Anne was one of nine children.  She graduated from Ripon High School in 1937 and married Alfred B. Braun on June 12, 1940, at St. Wenceslaus Church, Ripon. Together she and Alfred owned The Grill Restaurant downtown Ripon until 1968 when it was sold to their son Jim.

Anne was an avid sports fan, winning many Packer pools and loved playing numerous card games with grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed golfing summers at Tuscumbia Golf Course in Green Lake, WI and winters in Largo, FL. Anne was a volunteer at Ripon Community Hospital and was a member of the Ripon Hospital Auxiliary. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary 5278 and a devoted member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church where she was in the Altar Society.  

Anne is survived by her daughter, Judy (Tom) Dudzinski of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Teresa (David) Brittingham of Scottsdale, AZ, Mark (Chris) Dudzinski of Ripon, WI, Michael (Kayla) Dudzinski of Ripon, WI, Christine (Michael) Matysik of Sheboygan, WI, Victoria (Bruce) Brunner of Kohler, WI, Alison (Tim) Zimmerman of Appleton, WI, and Antoinette (Dr. Sarmad) Ashfaq of Sewickley, PA. Anne is further survived by great-grandchildren, Ethan Brittingham, Ellie Brittingham, Taylor (Ben) Gotz, Katya (Conner) Kowalkowski, Braden Dudzinski, Matthew (Matt Przybylski) Matysik, Tyler Matysik, Samantha (Ryan) Brunner Krist, Kendall (Harrison) Czarnecki-Anderson, Maxwell, Camden, Jackson and Aubrey Czarnecki, Emaan, Noor, Hamza and Hasan Ashfaq; great great-children, Maren and Avery Gotz, Hudson Kowalkowski and Owen Krist. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Jaworski; husband, Alfred; son, Jim (Claire) Braun; gr. granddaughter, Brianna Brunner; siblings, Mary (Bob) Wand, Betty (Roy) Duvall, Jo (Bob Stone, Loren Lieske) Lieske, Roman (Beverly) Jaworski, Margaret (Edward) Beuthin, Helen Stratton, Martha (Bob) Manthey, and Joan (Alan) Kennedy.

Visitation for Anne will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 am on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971. 

Mass of Christian Burial for Anne will be held at 11:00 am immediately following visitation, with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM Cap officiating. You may view a livestream of the mass at 11:00 am by visiting www.facebook.com/stcatherineripon. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac, WI.
