Obituary published on Legacy.com by Page Funeral Home - Burlington from Jan. 23 to Jan. 24, 2026.
It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Marie (Whomsley) Haines of Morrisville announces her passing after a brief illness on Jan. 22, 2026 at the age of 94.

Born in Mount Holly, N.J., Anne was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Beatrice Whomsley of Burlington, N.J., and her loving husband of 50 years Charles E. Haines Jr.

She is survived by her children Kathleen Pedersen (Roy) and Thomas (Kathleen). She was a proud grandmother to Timothy Haines (Colleen), Douglas Pedersen (Kami), Kristen Haines, Anthony Pedersen (Rikka) and Jackson Haines, and great-grandmother to Mabel and Dawson Haines. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Elizabeth Keon (Richard) and several nieces. She was predeceased by brother-in-laws William Haines and Harold Mitchener and sister-in-law Eliza Mitchener.

Anne was a devoted elementary school teacher for 40 years, beginning her career in Burlington City and later taking a position with the Pennsbury School District, where she taught for 26 years.

Anne graduated from Trenton State College (College of N.J.) with a BS in teaching and earned a Masters of Education degree from Rider University.

She was a 1949 graduate of Burlington High School.

Among Anne's many joys in life was traveling extensively with her husband to the Caribbean, South America, the Panama Canal, Canada, Hawaii and the Continental United States, then later with her friends, with whom she visited Alaska, and toured Europe.

When home, Anne was always on the go, socializing with her many friends through dining, a game of dominos or attending theater and concerts that reflected her eclectic tastes, ranging from pop and jazz to classical music.

Anne was active in an array of community groups, including the Pennsbury Community Chorus, with whom she was proud to perform at Carnegie Hall.
