Anne Turnan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Keefe Funeral Home - Arlington on Oct. 30, 2025.
Anne Caitlin Turnan, age 68, died at home with her family beside her on October 29, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Thomas F. and Barbara Finneran Turnan, she was a lifelong resident of Arlington, MA.

Anne was the sister of J. Paul Turnan and Moira Turnan Hannon, sister-in-law of John J. Hannon, and the cherished aunt of Maeve, Delia, and Bríg Hannon. Anne also leaves behind many good friends in the Inverness Rd./Aberdeen Rd. neighborhood, especially her young friends Etta and Grant, who brought her much joy.

After graduating from Simmons College in 1979, Anne worked in the tech industry until her health required her retirement.

Anne will be remembered as an excellent craftswoman, tutor, and cook (The family assures the neighbors that we are still searching for her Christmas jelly and fudge recipes.) Her many talents made her an event planner extraordinaire for every family occasion. Anne was very thoughtful, creative, and, although modest, had a ready wit and wry sense of humor that engaged all those who knew her.

Anne's family will always remember with gratitude her organ donor, who was the reason Anne was able to meet all of her nieces, and who gave us the gift of these last 24 years with Anne.

Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St. Arlington, Friday, November 7, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church, Medford St., Arlington. Services will conclude with burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to the American Diabetes Association, (www.diabetes.org).
