Anne Warner Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 1, 2025.
It is at this time we remember our mother, Anne L. Warner. She entered the eternities quietly in her sleep at Red Cliffs Care Center in St. George, Utah.

Anne was born Rhoda Ann Ladd on 20 March 1946, to Margaret Rose and Roy E. Ladd in Montrose, Colorado. Her early life was met with strife due to a difficult relationship between her parents. Her mother took ill and asked the State of Utah to help. She and her siblings Janette, Linda, and Robert were taken in by the state and fostered in various homes around the area. When Margaret petitioned for them to be returned, her request was not granted, and the children were entered into the adoption system. Robert had been fostered by William and Ida Ogilvie but couldn't be adopted by them due to age. Subsequently, they were adopted by their son and his wife, Ferral and Cleone Ogilvie on Christmas Eve 1950 along with two baby girls of Margaret and Roy that had passed away soon after birth. It was then that Rhoda was asked if she'd like to change her name and change it, she did! To Anne Louise Ogilvie, "Anne with an 'E' like the queen!"

Ferral and Cleone had five children of their own: Gary, Blaine, Yvonne, John, and Paul. Anne and her brother and sisters were later sealed for time and all eternity to Ferral and Cleone in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints temple in Salt Lake City. Anne talked about their household as being respectful, caring and full of life. She had many uncles and aunts and cousins to play with, especially at their grand Christmas parties. There was always music in the home and at church, something Anne enjoyed immensely. She was gifted with perfect pitch and a beautiful singing voice, able to reach a high C and could sing loud enough to help her parents gain the right key. For though they loved to sing the praises of God, both were tone challenged, yet lighthearted about it. Her dad used to tell her it didn't matter what key he sang in, the angels would hear it! Attending high school at Springville High in Springville, UT, Anne gained many friends she talked about all her life. One friend she was especially fond of was her competition for Violin First Chair in band. They competed and seconded each other many times in their course but loved each other dearly and eventually lived on the same street in St. George in their later years.

At the age of eighteen, Anne's sister Janette asked for the gift of meeting her birth mother. This was a moment for all the siblings and Anne got to know her mother, Margaret, very well. They learned that the parents had found each other and kept in touch, writing back and forth on the interests and personalities of the children, what they were up to and how they were doing in school. They had become friends and always wanted the best for them.

Margaret married John Marino, so the siblings gained 2 additional brothers, Michael & Patrick and youngest sister Terri. All of whom they embraced throughout their lives. After graduation in 1964, Anne dated and married Clyde R. Bennett, a man she knew as the bishop's son and Navy veteran from just down the road in Mapleton, Utah. During the next nine years, they had six active children: Robyn Michelle, Ronda Anne, Randall Clyde, Rynell Lynn, Rachelle Judi, and Ryan John. Sadly, the marriage ended in divorce in early 1976.

Later that same year Anne began dating retired Air Force Major John Andrew Warner, "Jack" to all who knew him. She fell in love with him quickly and introduced him to her family and he introduced her to his three loving children: Debra Lee, Mark Charles, and John David.

In December 1976, Jack asked her children what they thought of him asking her to marry him. Upon hearty approval, he did so and on March 19, 1977, they were wed in a large family ceremony in Spanish Fork, Utah. The next year, they added another child to the family, Rayna Joelle. The circle was completed with their temple sealing in Oakland, California in July 1983.

Jack passed through the veil in May 2024, leaving Anne to matriarch a very large family. She joined him on Tuesday November 25, 2025, and her presence will be missed. She leaves here on earth an amazing incorporation of ten children, thirty-six grandchildren, and forty-two great grandchildren (which they have named "The Zoo") – a wonderful legacy that will live on in love, honor and the same liveliness she brought to the world

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
