Brewster & Shea Funeral & Cremation Service - ManchesterAnne Marie Duffy Weber, 84, of West Arlington, VT died peacefully in her sleep on March 23, 2026 in Manchester, VT.
Anne was born in Hartford, CT and spent her early years growing up on a small family farm in Bloomfield, CT. In 1953 she then moved with her family to Houston, TX where she attended grade school, St. Agnes High School and the University of St. Thomas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
Anne and Ron met at a Newman Club dance while Ron was attending Rice University in Houston, TX. They married on August 31, 1963.
Ron’s work moved their family to California, England and Scotland. Anne taught English and creative writing at schools in Houston, TX and Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai, CA. and was a proofreader at The Ojai Valley News.
After leaving Scotland in 1987 they settled in West Arlington, VT. They purchased Norman Rockwell’s former home and began a new life as innkeepers/owners spanning 25 years operating The Inn on Covered Bridge Green, Country Willows and Hill Fam Inn which was a partnership with their daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Craig.
Anne was a member of Arlington and Manchester Chambers of Commerce, first female to be on the executive committee for the Vermont State Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Arlington Planning Commission.
Anne was a caring and compassionate person who made things adventurous. She and Ron loved to travel visiting countries throughout North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Egypt and Japan. She cherished times spent with their children, grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Arlington Garden Club. She enjoyed long walks along the Battenkill River, hiking, fishing, and supporting and cheering for her children and grandchildren at all their activities and sporting events.
Anne is survived by her husband Ronald, children Kathleen Yañez (Craig) of Benton, CA, Patrick Weber (Carolyn) of Georgia, VT, Kevin Weber of Manchester, VT and Sharon Weber of Manchester, VT. Grandchildren Brittany, Jessica, Cole, Brett, Stephanie, Michael, Amelia, Thomas. Great grandchildren Natalie and John. She was pre-deceased by her father James Joseph Duffy and mother Kathryn Mary Nolan Duffy of Houston, TX as well as her brother James Patrick Duffy and sister-in-law Joanne Flusche Duffy of Austin, TX.
A Funeral Mass for Anne will be held on April 8, 2026 at 11am at Christ Our Savior Parish, 398 Bonnet St, Manchester Center, VT 05255. A reception will immediately follow Mass at Christ Our Savior Parish.
