Anne V. Wessel, born on March 15, 1943, in Utica, New York, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, in Lake Wales, Florida. A devoted music teacher and a beloved member of her community, Anne touched the lives of many through her passion for education and her love of music.
Anne's journey began with a four-year bachelor's degree in music, which laid the foundation for a lifelong career dedicated to teaching and inspiring students. Throughout her life, she played piano at various churches, sharing her talent and devotion to the art. Her commitment extended beyond the classroom, as she was known for her avid reading and handy work.
A cherished member of Redemption Baptist Church of Winter Haven, Anne actively participated in her faith community, further exemplifying her generous spirit and caring nature. She lived her life through her faith in the Bible, and personal faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Her legacy continues through her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald A. Wessel; daughters Sharon Walker and husband Tim of Bartow, and Kathleen Wessel and partner Matthew Bunn of Winter Haven; son David Wessel and wife Kathleen of Lodi, New Jersey; and a growing family that includes 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Vantyne, who instilled in her the values of love and perseverance that she carried throughout her life.
A graveside service to honor Anne V. Wessel will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Lake Wales Memorial Gardens (581 Hunt Brothers Rd, Lake Wales, Florida) beginning at 2:00 PM.
