I have known Annie Wright for 32 years, I was her student at PEC NYU from 1991 to 1993. Throughout the years we kept in touch. Annie taught Environmental Studies particularly since we could introduce science and activities to young children. One of my favorite activities that I was able to lead the children in was the sink/float.
At the end of my first year, I told Annie that I wanted to work with children who had special needs. I wanted that challenge. Annie came with me to observe a class with young children who had autism. I said yes, I would like to try it out.
Annie worked one on one with us so she helped me with budgeting.
Annie had a great sense of humor. I don't know how this started but the other Alli and I had our lower lips out ( pretending to pout). Alli won with a bigger lower lip, mine was a bookshelf to hold her books.
Annie taught me never to give up. Annie never lost faith in me and she believed in me and all that I could do, she never gave up on me.
I loved Annie, and enjoyed the classes that she taught. I got a lot out of PEC NYU program and earned an award for the most outstanding student.
Annie will be missed most definitely, but my memories of her will last forever. Laura and family, my condolences.

I came to Annie through James and I'm so grateful that I had her for an additional 45 years. She will be much missed. May her memory be a blessing.
