Anne Xuong Thi Tran
Des Moines, Iowa
1928–2025
Mrs. Anne Xuong Thi Tran, age 96, peacefully entered eternal rest at her home in Des Moines, Iowa, on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held from 4:30–6:00 p.m., followed by a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, at Caldwell-Parrish Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa. A Vietnamese Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, at St. Peter’s Vietnamese Catholic Church, 618 E. 18th Street, Des Moines. Catholic burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Anne Xuong was born on December 13, 1928, in Hue City, Vietnam. She married her beloved husband, Paul Duoc Tong, on August 16, 1948, in Duong Son, Hue, Vietnam. They shared a devoted marriage until his passing in May 2012.
A woman of extraordinary resilience, faith, and love, she was the cherished mother of eleven children—eight sons and three daughters. She also experienced deep loss, having two sons pass away at a young age. One of the sons died from the Vietnam War. Through every hardship, she remained a pillar of grace and unwavering faith.
In July 1991, Anne Xuong came to the United States with her family through the Humanitarian Operation (HO7) Program, beginning a new chapter in Iowa, where she made her home for the next 34 years. She was blessed with 26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.
Anne Xuong will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her perseverance, and her deep devotion to God. She instilled in her family a guiding message that shaped generations:
“TRUST IN THE LORD AND HAVE STEADFAST FAITH.”
Her legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
