Anneliese was born on Sept. 27, 1930 in Krefeld, Germany. In 1951, she married Bernhardt Siewert, and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage before his passing. In 1958, they traveled to the United States of America, settling in Chicago. In 1974, they moved to Stevensville to be nearer to the lake, which they loved so much. Anneliese found work at Helenes Clothing Store in Fairplain Plaza and after their closing, went to work at LECO Corp., where she worked until her retirement.
Anneliese was preceded in death by her husband, Bernhardt; her daughter, Marion Vance; her son, David; sister, Irene and her husband, Vic Miletic; and parents: Anne Liesa and Karl Kreienen.
Anneliese is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kimm Siewert; her grandchildren: Rachel (Kyle) Ratledge, Luke Siewert, Lilly Siewert, Scott Vance and Amanda Vance; great-grandchildren: Austen Vance, Nicholas Vance, Noah and Kylee Ratledge, and Manny, as well as two nephews: Michael (Joy) and Peter Miletic.
Anneliese was an incredibly strong woman who loved Lake Michigan, gardening and family. At 92, she was diagnosed with cancer. She drove herself to all her chemo and doctor appointments, continued to do her own grocery shopping, and insisted on doing her own house and yard work, right up until the end. Rest in peace dear Omi, you've earned it.
