Annette Marie (Menconi) Andretich Gross, devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Born and raised in Chicago, Annette attended St. Francis DeSales High School. Some of the most meaningful relationships of her life grew out of the years she spent raising her children, surrounded by families who shared in the joys, challenges, and everyday moments of family life. She later dedicated many years to the Crete-Monee School District, where her kindness and professionalism were deeply valued. Beyond her career, Annette was an active leader in the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) and local women's organizations, where she inspired others through her generosity, vision, and commitment to community service.
Annette first married James Joseph Andretich, with whom she shared a life and raised her family. After James's passing, she later married John J. "Jack" Gross, cherishing their time together until his death.
She is survived by her three children: Paula (Christopher) Davis and their children Zachary, Hannah (fiancé Juan Ramirez), Sophie (Pedja) Trifunovic, Tommy, and Emma; Larry Andretich and his children Morgan, Brooke (Dane) Miller, Reese, and Allie; and Brooke's daughter Sloan, Annette's first great-grandchild; and Stephen (Tracy) Andretich and their children JJ and Johnny.
Annette is also survived by her sister, Mary Ellyn Menconi; her brother, Ken Menconi; and her sister-in-law, Judy Menconi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mary Menconi; her brother, Lawrence Menconi; and her husbands, James Joseph Andretich and John J. "Jack" Gross.
Annette will be remembered for her devotion to family, her spirited leadership in women's organizations, and her love for travel. Her legacy of service, laughter, and love will continue to live on in all who knew her.
