Annette “Netty” Braun, 74, of Mandan, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church in Mandan. Rite of Committal will follow at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary and Parish Vigil beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Annette Marie, known to many as Netty, was born September 11, 1951, the daughter of Stella Bender. She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, George and Emma Bender. She graduated from Mandan High School, with the Class of 1970. Annette went on to marry the love of her life, Dennis Braun, in September of 1973.
Netty had a wonderful sense of humor and often joked that Dennis married her because he thought her dad had money-and since she was two years older, she could buy him beer and he could collect her Social Security early. The two shared over 50 years of love and laughter together.
She worked for 25 years at Laducer & Associates assisting with data entry. At home, she was a realist and always allowed Brad and Ashley make their own decisions. This earned her the title of "the cool mom" among her kids' friends. Netty enjoyed camping trips, casino runs, and a good cigarette. Above all, she loved her family and was a proud and devoted grandma, always available for her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Ashley (Ricky) DeWall and Brad (Ann) Braun; grandchildren, Jakob and Jordin Braun and Lukas and Avery DeWall; and her siblings, Kenny Bender, Clarence (Millie) Bender, Delores Scott, Glenda Eisenbarth, and Darla Bauer; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother, Stella Eisenbarth; several siblings; and her father- and mother-in-law, Ray and Helen Braun.
