LIBERTY — Mrs. Annie Mae Whitt Austin, 86, departed from this life on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, with Rev. Aaron Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Garden United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was a life-long resident of Guilford County and a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church of Kimesville. She was a homemaker who loved working in her yard and garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Dunk" Austin; daughter, Joyce Ann Austin; parents, Ivetus and Roy Lee Whitt Sr.; sister, Edna Townsend; brothers, Charles Lee Whitt, Roy Lee Whitt, Jr., and William A. Whitt.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, June Bullock and her husband William "Bill" of the home; sons, Douglas Austin and wife Debbie of Pleasant Garden and Donald Austin and wife Susie of Liberty; sister, Jeanette Taylor of Pleasant Garden; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Kalsoom Khan, Kristin Curcio, the staff at Stoney Creek Regional Cancer Center, and Hospice and Palliative Care at Greensboro.
