Annie Margaret "Nanny" Levins, age 74, of Cottondale, passed away July 15, 2025, at Northport DCH Medical Center. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, with Stephen Stroud officiating and burial to follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Margaret was born August 17, 1950, in Moulton, AL, to the late Willie Bell Montgomery and Robert Barrett. She retired from BF Goodrich Tire Plant after 31 years of service. She was a hardworking single mother. She loved her daughters and took pride in raising three independent women. Margaret adored her family. Being their "Nanny" was her most cherished role. She enjoyed family functions and spending time with her five precious grandchildren and two (soon to be three!) great-grandchildren. Her grands and great grands always brought a smile to her face. Her dog Levi held a very special place in her heart, with her even preparing home-cooked meals, just for him! In her free time, she enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and fixing things around the house. She was fiercely independent, as there was never a job, around the house, that she wouldn't tackle on her own! Ms. Levins was loved by so many, she will be forever remembered and missed beyond measure.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Viola Hyde, stepfather Gilbert Montgomery and sister Barbara Fleming.
Ms. Levins is survived by daughters Pamela Ann Hewitt, Stephanie Ann Woolley and Sonya Rena Levins; grandchildren Justin Woodard (Megan), Krysta Woodard (Justin), Payton Woolley, Brantley Woolley and Josie Woolley; great grandchildren Emma Medders, Lainey Medders and Baker Woodard; sisters Peggy Colburn (Robert) and Mary Robbins (Brian); nieces April Miller, Dawn Vess and Krystal Hooper; and nephew Corby Robbins.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Justin Woodard, Payton Woolley, Brantley Woolley, Robert Colburn, Brian Robbins and Keith Booker.
The family wishes to recognize The Smile Design Center as Honorary Pallbearers.
