Annie Montejano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hilgenfeld Mortuary on Mar. 6, 2026.
Birth: January 30, 1935 | Died: March 1, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beautiful mom Annie Martinez Montejano, age 91 passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026.
She was born on January 30, 1935 to parents Mercedes Saldana Martinez and Gregorio Martinez orange county, where she was raised and lived her entire life. She went on to marry Tony Manuel Montejano, had 6 children: Tony Jr., Shirley, Eddie, Lorraine, Nancy and Jo Ann; 11 Grandkids, 10 Great Grandkids and 3 Great, Great Grandkids.
About our mom: to know her, was to love her. She would welcome anyone, was very kind, and never complained. She raised 6 children, and didn't drive, so she and the family often took the bus to doctor appointments.
Our mom was an Avon Lady for many years, often going door to door selling. Among her other hobbies, she and my dad love going to garage sales and swap meets. They would hang out with good friends and family, go on road trips to Vegas and Laughlin, and watch her favorite old TV shows and good movies. Mom also raised lots of birds, parakeets, cockatiels, and the last breed were love birds.
Mom may you rest peacefully in heaven, we will miss your smile and touch, but we will forever keep you in our hearts until we meet again. Love you.

Mom this was the worst day of my life to lose you, you meant the world to me. I am going to miss you so much i´m happy I got to spend all that time with you the 11 years caring for you and being with you in your home I wouldn´t trade it for the world and I would do it again in a heartbeat I know you´re in a better place no more suffering no more pain in your rejoicing with God with a new body with dad and other loved ones. It´s gonna be hard without you, but I know you´ll always want me to take care of myself I still can´t believe you´re gone. I´m having a hard time letting go, but I know I need to let you rest now I´m gonna miss you so much Mom. I love you until we meet again.

Momma Annie,

Your sweet smile lit up a room. Your sweet soul made everyone feel as though they were part of your family. Every phone call ending with tell "Denise , I love you too"   That's a precious memory I will cherish all my life.
You were here for anyone who needed you. You were so patient and kind. Never saying one word out of anger or spite. You were a ray of Sunshine beaming brightly even when you were sick or in pain.
The Bible says there are Angels on this Earth who we may or may not see in our walk.  I believe. I know this for a fact, that I have seen an angel..and was blessed by one. YOU.
I will never forget you dancing in your chair, your love for music and a memory that was amazing.  I will never forget the beautiful mornings and afternoons you spent in our backyard, in peaceful serenity,  watching the birds while viewing the springtime flowers. Every time I see a bird or a beautiful flower , I will forever remember your sweet smile and kind heart. What a blessing.
No matter what age God called you Home Annie ..you were taken too early but I know so many in Heaven, who have been waiting patiently for you are now celebrating you with them.  I Love you so much Momma Annie. U til we meet again.
  Love you, Denise....

Your entire family was nothing but wonderful to the Solis family when my grandparents passed . Clearly , your mom helped raised kind and generous children . My heart is with all of you , as you grieve . " you cannot prevent the birds of sorrow from flying over , but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair. " grief is a process - give yourselves grace and time .

Grandma, I am beyond lucky to have had you as my grandma. You have always been here for me. From changing my diapers, walking me to school to sitting in the hospital with me while I got my epidural and had my first baby,Zoey and being there with me when I had Isabella. you´ve been here for me during sad and happy times. Always listened to me and didn´t judge me. You always looked out for me. You´ve always been more than a grandma too me, you were like my other mom. Thank you for loving me and treating me like one of your own. It´s not going to be the same without you. I just have to tell myself that it´s Robert´s turn to have his grandma now. I have so many wonderful memories with you and now it´s his turn to enjoy you like I did. The girls and I love you so much, and will never forget you.

Love you mamma, to lose your mother is undescribable. It's bittersweet; happy that you are no longer suffering and are resting with Dad and brother Tony Jr., but our hearts hurt without your presence. We were so blessed to have such an amazing, caring Mom, and find comfort in all the memories for as long as we had you. Love my sweet Mamma, until we meet again.
