(Annie) Ruth Sherwood Weldon received her reward of eternal peace, Thursday, May 12, 2022, at age 96. She was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, of 76 years, William Clyde Weldon, Sr. Ruth was born in Miami, Florida to the late Henry Louis Sherwood and Corrine Bearden Sherwood of Henry County, Ga. The next to youngest of 7 children, Ruth is survived by one sibling, her beloved sister, Virginia Brown. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was the loving mother to daughter, Donna Lewis, and her late husband Mike, and son, William Clyde Weldon, Jr (Bill) and wife Cheryl.
Her greatest blessing was her family and especially her grandchildren, Jason Lewis and wife, Chandra, Mark Lewis and wife, Jennifer, Jessica Cox and husband, Ed, Will Weldon and wife Becky, Elizabeth Weldon, Stephanie Kochy and husband, Jeff.
She was blessed to see 7 of her precious great grandchildren born and she welcomed them with a heart of gratitude and abundant love.... Katherine Lewis, Caleb Lewis, Madison Lewis, Elli Cox, Carolyn Weldon, Liam Weldon, Flynn Kochy.
Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend was an example, for all of us, of a life well lived in an abundance of true unconditional love for family.
We loved her (and our Dad), for the wonderful life they gave us and we are so happy, on this day, to picture them reunited in heaven.
A private service was held May 14, 2022. Many thanks to JC Harwell & Son for handling of arrangements with kindness and compassion. Thank you also, to Dr. David Lewis, family member, for officiating.
Memorials may be made in the form of donations in Ruth's memory to Alzheimer's Association (branch of your choice).
And last, the family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Towne Club Windermere in Cumming, GA. Also, Agape Hospice of Marietta, Ga.
Psalm 118:24 This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad."
