Annie Mae Smith Jackson was born on September 28, 1948, in Columbia, SC to Hampton Davis Sr. and Lillie Martin Davis.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Progressive Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. in Columbia, SC. She later became a faithful and dedicated member of Grace Temple Deliverance Center in Columbia, SC where she served as the President of the Women's Dept, and member of the Leadership Team.
She attended the Public Schools of Richland County and graduated from C. A. Johnson High School. She continued her education and obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate and Associates of Human Services in Mental Health at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC; a Bachelor of Social Work at Columbia College in Columbia, SC; Master of Education in Creative Arts at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA; and Master's in Counseling at Webster University in Columbia, SC.
Annie influenced by her family and friends, was a loving and caring woman, who always dedicated her time, love, and attention to any and every one that needed it. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Smith was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leigh Darryl Jackson; her son, Willie E. Smith III; her parents, and siblings, Hampton Davis Jr., Rudolph Davis, Geneva Joyner, and Gladys Clinkscales.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kimberly Conely of Columbia, SC; her granddaughter, Nevaeh Jones of Columbia, SC; her grandsons, Kelvin and Delvin Smith of Columbia, SC; her brother, Freddie Davis of Philadelphia, PA; her goddaughter/niece, Elizabeth Davis Larsen of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
