Annie Mae “Ann” Toney Threadgill went to join her Lord and Savior on November 25, 2025 at the age of 100 years and 3 months. She passed peacefully at her home in Lake Kiowa surrounded by loving family.

Ann was born in Magnolia, Mississippi on August 25, 1925 and moved to the Dallas area with her family as a teenager. When her children were young, she moved to Cooke County and lived there and surrounding areas for many years, raising her children, whom she loved and cared for more than anything in the world. Eventually, she got a job she loved as a bookkeeper at Neiman Marcus and commuted for a while before moving back to Dallas.

In 1979 she moved to the country in Kaufman with her daughter, Terri, the baby of the family. She worked as an office manager in her brother Randolph’s business, and her beloved sister, Donis, relocated from New Jersey and moved next door. In 1990, Terri’s daughter, Lindsay, the apple of Ann’s eye, joined the family. Ann, Terri and Lindsay shared a deep love of animals and never met one they wouldn’t rescue. After Randolph passed and then Donis passed in 2009, the three of them moved to Lake Kiowa to be near family. It took three cars to transport all their pets: 7 dogs, 5 cats, two turtles and two birds. We joked that it looked like the Clampetts were moving to town.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Gertrude Toney; brothers Davis, Paul, Charlie, Almon and Randolph; sister Donis Vigh; the father of her children, Walter Threadgill, and son Matt Threadgill.

Ann is survived by her sister, Norma Threadgill; daughter Carrie Cecca and husband Lee Cecca; son Mark Threadgill and wife Donna Sparkman; daughters Toni Threadgill and Terri Bradshaw; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lake Kiowa Lodge, 905 W Kiowa Drive, on December 28 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Noah’s Ark in Gainesville, TX.
