Eleanor C. Campisi, 77, of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday morning, March 18, 2023, at Fort Dodge Health & Rehabilitation in Fort Dodge.
She was born October 12, 1945, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Elmer W. and Norma F. (Larson) Barkis. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School. Following graduation, she made her home in Humboldt where she raised her children. She worked for a time at Hardees, Misty Harbor and later Yacht Club Trailers. Ellen was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. She enjoyed baking, sewing, she made some of her children’s clothes, was very social and she never met a stranger. She was involved in politics at all levels and loved to sing, both in her church at Our Saviour’s and the Humboldt Community Chorus, as well as, at various events and occasions.
She is survived by her children Kevin (Gaadiah) Campisi of St. Peter, Minnesota, Kristen Campisi of Glidden and Kelly Box of Humboldt, her grandchildren K.J., Hailey and Donovan and her brother George Scott Jr., of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law Leo Campisi.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 12:00 noon until the start of her 2:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 25th both at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt with the Reverend Katherine Russell, officiating. www.masonlindhart.com
