Annie Wolter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parsell Funeral Homes-Hardesty Chapel - Bridgeville on Dec. 2, 2025.
Annie W. Wolter passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025 at the home of her daughter and in the care of her loved ones. She was born on May 3, 1934 and was the daughter of Frank and Annie (Chalmers) Williams. She was raised on a farm in Bridgeville and attended Bridgeville High School. Annie later graduated from cosmetology school and successfully owned and operated Ann's Cut N Curl in Greenwood, retiring after 40 years. But retirement wasn't in her vocabulary, so she began a second career as part-time concierge at Brandywine Senior Living in Rehoboth, finally retiring during the covid pandemic after 20 years of faithful service.

Throughout her life Annie belonged to and was active in many organizations and clubs. The American Legion Post #28, the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Moose and the Red Hats, to name a few. Annie enjoyed annual trips to "The Bee" in Branson, and traveled to Williamsburg, Jamestown, Chicago, Florida and Cancun. She liked to keep busy and was always "on the go", making friends wherever she went and throughout her life made many lasting friendships.

Family was important to Annie. A friendly but competitive game of 500 Rummy was a weekly occurrence with her sister, daughter and other family members. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and dinners, especially during the holidays, Christmas being her favorite holiday. For many years Annie gifted her family and friends with her delicious homemade fudge. Family will lovingly remember her "tidying up" after the chaos of gift exchange and the unwrapping of presents. Annie's final days were spent in the glow of a Christmas tree with Christmas music playing softly on the radio.

Annie enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest. She was loved deeply and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents Annie was predeceased by her brothers Horace, Frankie and Hal Williams. Annie is survived by her daughter Debby (Ray) Curlett, grandsons Michael (Crystal) and Mark (Laura) Curlett and great grandchildren Nicholas Gentry, Jacob, Hannah, Sarah and Nathan Curlett, Sister Ruby Witzke and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on December 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Home, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment is private.
