It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Annita Ruth Coast. Ruth was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and cherished friend who passed away peacefully in her home on July 22, 2025, in
Bartlesville, OK. Born on September 1, 1939, in Lyons, Kansas to Pauline Hazel Kastl Rowland and Estle William Rowland. Ruth moved around the country with her family while her father worked in the oil fields. She was raised in Kinmundy and Alma, Illinois and in Kansas she lived in Severy, Climax and Eureka. She moved to
Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1951. She worked as a nurse's aide at Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville during her junior and senior years of high school. Later she worked for City Service, Phillips 66, and was an exceptional cowhand and homemaker. When Ruth was 15 years old, she met the love of her life, and the boy with the bluest eyes in town, Dean Coast. Dean and Ruth were married on October 18, 1957. Throughout 67 years of marriage, they built homes, businesses, and most importantly, a family with strong morals and an unwavering love for one another. Ruth will be remembered by many for her kind heart and razor-sharp wit. Always available to help anyone in need, or in need of straightening out, Ruth cared deeply for her family and her community. Her sense of humor was second to none and she was known to pull the greatest pranks when they were least expected. Ruth was always ready to tell anyone about her family and how proud she was of them. Raising her family to be kind, hardworking, and filled with integrity is how Ruth's legacy will forever be carried on. She is survived by her loving husband, Dean, her sister Sandy Wilkins; her three children Mike Coast, Patty Hough and husband Dan, and David Coast. Her grandchildren Cody Hough and wife Kimmy, Brianna Coast, Meghan Johnson and husband Curtis, Cooper Hough and wife Amber, Brody Coast, Becca Sumner and husband Randon and Tristan Brown and finance Ali Riley. Ruth was a loving great-grandmother to Hank and Griffin Hough, Rhemi and Noah Sumner, and Archer Johnson and she recently gained a great-great- grand baby, Theo Brown. She is also survived by sister-in-law's Jean Rowland and Gwen Kirwin and husband Carroll, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In death, Ruth was preceded by her parents and her brothers Marion Eugene Rowland and Cevil Henry Rowland. While we will forever mourn the loss of such a beautiful soul, the family rests easy knowing Ruth is wrapped in the arms of Jesus with no more pain and 20/20 vision. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home and Crematory Walker-Brown Chapel.
