Antero Medeiros Agostinho, 87 Fall River, passed at home, surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Maria Pacheco Agostinho.

Born in São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of Bazilio M. Agostinho and Maria da Luz Moniz.

He was the father of Goretti Sousa (husband Manny), Dinarte Agostinho (wife Charlene), Dina Cooper (husband Terry), and Valter Agostinho. He was the grandfather of Shawn Sousa (companion Caitlin), Chelsea Sousa (fiance Brayan), and Destanie Cooper (fiance Joey). He was the great-grandfather of Timothy Maciel, Lucas Torres, Mia Nova, and Brayson Tejada. He was the brother of the late Antonio, Jose, Jaime, and sister Maria, and the late brothers-in-law Afonso, Tiberio and wife Berta. He is survived by his brother Eugenio (wife Ermelinda) and 2 beloved sisters Lucia and Adelaide (husband Jermias), nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He brought joy to the lives of those he loved throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Santo Cristo Church. His first job in his new adventure in America was working alongside his brother Eugenio at Poole Silver in Taunton as a silversmith. After the closing, he worked as a shipbuilder at Derecktor Shipyard in Portsmouth, R.I.. In his later years, he worked and was retired from Whaling in Fall River, where he met his trusted and best friend Jimmy Pavão.

He loved and took great care tending to his beautifully landscaped yard where his vegetables, fruits, and flowers flourished throughout the gardens. His passion for the traditional Azorean ways were showcased when you tasted his homemade wine, which he enjoyed having a glass with family and friends. On Sundays, you would find him alongside his wife Maria preparing the day's tasty meal for the family. He was the patriarch of the family and will be greatly missed by all.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 8 - 9:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River.

His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
