He brought joy to the lives of those he loved throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Santo Cristo Church. After the closing, he worked as a shipbuilder at Derecktor Shipyard in Portsmouth, R.I.. In his later years, he worked and was retired from Whaling in Fall River, where he met his trusted and best friend Jimmy Pavão.
He loved and took great care tending to his beautifully landscaped yard where his vegetables, fruits, and flowers flourished throughout the gardens. His passion for the traditional Azorean ways were showcased when you tasted his homemade wine, which he enjoyed having a glass with family and friends. On Sundays, you would find him alongside his wife Maria preparing the day's tasty meal for the family. He was the patriarch of the family and will be greatly missed by all.
