Anthony Accola Obituary
Anthony was born on May 12, 1969 in Glenridge, NJ, and was the son of Anthony Accola, and the late Jamie Buttacavoli.
Anthony had a loving passion for his career. He was a hairdresser for 37 years, and throughout, owned and operated several hair salons, most recently, Gumdrop Hairdressing in Montclair, NJ and Accola Hair in Warwick, NY.
Anthony was a loving, charming and caring man, with an infectious personality, and a great sense of humor. He was the life of the party, and could go from a dive bar to fine dining in a quick second. He had many hobbies which included riding his motorcycle, hunting, making his delicious homemade wine, and often having a memorable dance party with his wife. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his friends and family. He will always be remembered by his wife and best friend/ride or die, Kim. Throughout his life, he cherished the day one friendships he created in his younger days.
Anthony was involved in many activities including the Italian American Club in Goshen, NY. He often gave up his time to host charity events and Cut-A-Thons, to benefit the homeless and childhood cancer.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Kimberly Accola (LaPlaca), his former wife Tammi Polidoro (Tischio), and their beloved & amazing children, Gianna Falzarano (Christopher), and Michael Accola, along with his cherished grandchildren Vienna and Joseph Falzarano. He is survived by his father Anthony Accola Sr, father in law James LaPlaca, mother in law Linda LaPlaca, brother in law Jimmy Jr. LaPlaca and Uncle Michael DiPiazza, as well as his sister Alexis Marricone (Steve), along with his nephew Vincent Fikes, and nieces Nicole Fikes and Olivia Marricone. He was also survived by his father in law He was predeceased by his Mother Jamie Buttacavoli, and his son Anthony R. Accola.
At Anthony's request, there will be no calling hours or services at the Funeral home. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 2-6PM, at the Great Notch Inn - 400 US-46 - Woodland Park, NJ 07424.
All arrangements are entrusted to Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home.

Anthony had a gift with the scissors. I have wild and crazy hair! I always know when I have a good cut because I can tell how it grows in. His cut was perfect every time. I once told him your gift is to make woman feel beautiful! He did just that! God Speed..Anthony! Miss you!

I loved Anthony.He really cared about his clients. I Have been going to him for many years and always cut my hair the way I asked him to.I told him about Jesus and I know he accepted him as his Lord.Now he is in heaven

You were truly a remarkable person, full of life and joy. I will always cherish the memories of our conversations about food and our kids. Your sense of humor never failed to brighten my day. When I first moved here, I was fortunate to have found you. You were always welcoming and accommodating, and you had a talent for making everyone feel at ease. I´ll never forget how you always got my hair just perfect.
I remember our last interaction vividly. I had an appointment scheduled with you on Friday, July 28th, but received a call from you the day before, asking to reschedule for the following week. When I explained that I would be in Jamaica, you immediately offered to do my hair that day. You insisted that I couldn´t go to Jamaica with my hair undone. Despite feeling sad about the situation, your positivity shone through. You even mentioned that if this was the last hair you did, you were happy and pleased with the results.
I prayed for you then, and I continue to pray for your peace. It´s clear that there was something else meant for you beyond this world. Your absence will be deeply felt, and my girls and I will miss you dearly.

Anthony always made me laugh and smile every time I walked into Accola or Gumdrop salon!! Anthony was real and just down to earth type of human, friend, father & husband. Anthony was simply the best. He lived life his way and the best way for his friends & family. Until we meet again my friend. RIP I will miss you deeply.

Honestly the day to day in the salon. He made the environment lite and fun. He cared about his people and was such a great example of what it looks like to be great to your clientele.
His view on life was fascinating, he was the midnight rider! He lived hard and fast and to the fullest.
He will be deeply missed
