Anthony "Tony" Apilado Jr.
A cherished soul known for his adventurous spirit and infectious humor, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in his birthplace of
Honolulu, HI. Born on July 5, 1979, to Raldean Souza and Anthony Apilado Sr., Tony's effervescent personality was a gift to all who knew him.
A proud graduate of the Aviation School with Hawaiian Airlines, Tony's passion for the skies was evident from a young age. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to Leeward Community College, where he delved into Hawaiian Culture and Customer Service, reflecting his deep love for his heritage and his natural ability to connect with people.
Tony's professional journey was marked by dedication and excellence. After graduating from the Aviation program, he spread his wings further, taking his talents to Canada Airlines. His return to his roots was celebrated with a graduation in Hawaiian Studies and Culture, deepening his connection to the land and its stories. Tony's work ethic and warm personality shone brightly at Wyndham Hotel, where he was honored with a 5-year Loyalty Award and the prestigious Employee of the Year accolade.
As a devout Christian, Tony lived his faith through his actions, treating everyone he met with kindness and respect. His natural ability to make friends was matched only by his sense of humor, which could light up even the darkest of rooms.
Tony's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. He cherished time spent with family and friends, seeing these moments as the true treasures of life. His artistic side found joy in arts and crafts, while his love for movement was expressed through his passion for dancing, which he shared with all who were lucky enough to join him.
Tony's family was the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind a loving mother, Raldean Souza; his father, Anthony Apilado Sr.; and his brother, Kauikeaouli Kaawa Stenrud-Souza. His nephews, Harry and George Souza-Na o, will hold dear the memories of their fun-loving uncle who taught them to embrace life with laughter and courage.
Described by those who knew him as funny and friendly, Tony's legacy is one of joy and camaraderie. His adventurous nature inspired many to seek out the beauty in the world around them, and his absence will be deeply felt by the community he so dearly loved.
We bid farewell to Tony, a man whose life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and service. May his story continue to inspire us to live fully, to cherish our loved ones, and to approach each day with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit ready for adventure.
