Anthony Armeli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lind Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 6, 2026.
Anthony J. Armeli, 98, a lifelong Jamestown resident, passed away at UPMC Chautauqua on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born in Jamestown on November 23, 1927, to the late Rosario and Sebastiana "Bessie" Foti Armeli.
Tony graduated from Jamestown High School and proudly served in the United States Army in World War II. He married the love of his life, Grace Slocum Armeli, on August 26, 1950, and they happily spent 50 years together.
Jamestown knew Tony as a sociable letter carrier for 30 years. He stayed sharp and attentive, living independently until his last five days.
The outdoors spoke to him, completing endless rounds of golf as a Cable Hollow member and fancying many winters in Florida. Tony was a former bowler, participating in many leagues while remaining a crossword enthusiast all his years.
A man who could fix anything, Tony will be remembered most for his family-oriented heart. He cherished his family and loved his grandchildren above all, never missing a sporting event.
Tony's memory will carry on through his children, Donna (Steve Carlson) Ibero of Jamestown, Beth (Mark) Digirolamo of Panama, and Tom (Connie) Armeli of Falconer; his grandchildren, Nathan (Hilary) Ibero, Jenny (Jason) Crowl, Scott (Lindsay) Digirolamo, Casey (Ali) Digirolamo, Joseph (Erika) Armeli, and Jordan (Jessica) Armeli; his great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Olivia, Andrew, Seth, Rylie, Wyatt, Anneston, Max, Lucie, Naomie, and Beckham; his great great grandchildren, Mallory, Oakley, and Liam; as well as many nieces and nephews including Tony and Joey Armeli.
Besides his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace, who passed away September 25, 2000; as well as his siblings, Joseph Armeli, Nunzio Armeli, Samuel Armeli, and Jennie Paterniti.
The Memorial Mass for Anthony will be at 10am on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Donald Watkins will be Celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
