Only just now found out ans wish i couldve been there at memorial.
In the short time i met and hung out with Tony at Empowered church mens bible study, he made a huge difference in my walk (and sometimes struggle) with Jesus.
He was always humorous and so full of biblical wisdom and history of why and wheres and whos!
You could always feel he prayerfully considered everything you told him before answering.
Such a great and positive example of how to be in this world and deal with the things that come across your path.
I always looked forward to hug from him at church.
Always remember the pizzas!
Tho i am sad and little bit gutted for the moment, i will count it all joy for i know where my friend is and that he is experiencing wonderous things our human intellect cannot even comprehend and that i will see him again and get to check out his fancy new digs in my Father's house,
where there are many mansions.
Love you dude

To the Baker family, I just want to pass on my deepest condolences.
I had the pleasure of working with Toney at EPD. Tony and I mentored young police cadets on the department in the late 1990s. We were both Cadet Advisors. We traveled to Washington DC and Nevada to take the cadets to compete in both regional and national cadets competitions. One of the most memorable trips was to Washington DC. Tony had been to Washington DC before and wanted to share all his favorite historical and memorial locations with us. We must´ve walked 100 miles in 114° weather. He was like a kid in a candy store. All of the cadets that went on that competition are now leaders at the department at EPD . It fills my heart to know that Tony had a big hand at mentoring them. Those young adults are now leaders on the department. I won´t forget his infectious laugh. He always made everything fun. And he always listened intently. Always leaning in and providing inspiring words we needed. And he was always a great example of a wonderful father, a good man, and a caring, compassionate police officer. I will miss him dearly, and I feel honored to have worked with him and considered him a friend.
The attached photo is circa 1999. I believe we were waiting to talk at a city council meeting at the old City Hall at 777 Pearl Street.
Prayers and love, Julie Smith

I can´t remember a time I did not know Tony, as we lived across J street when I was two. Tony was a class ahead of me at Thurston and I enjoyed playing football with him. He was a man I truly looked up to during my high school years and rejoiced when our paths met anytime in our adult life´s. He treated life with the same passion he played football.... Giving his all. My life is blessed and richer to have seen his examples and called him a friend. A very dear friend.
Our walk´s with Christ will unite us again someday.
