Anthony Bello Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home and Crematory - Conshohocken on Feb. 19, 2026.
Anthony Bello, 88, a lifelong resident of Conshohocken, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Maria A. (Vennera) Bello, they were married 63 years. Tony was born in Conshohocken, PA, at his family's former West 6th Avenue home, on November 6, 1937, and was the son of the late Angelo R. and Maria Grazia (DiLeo) Bello. He was a graduate of St. Matthew High School class of 1955. He later entered the US Army and served our country being stationed in France and Germany. As a young man, Tony helped work in the family business Bello's 6th Avenue Grocery Store, later known as Bello's 6th Avenue Deli, for many years until its closure in 1972. The deli was well known for making homemade cheese and ravioli, and distributed those goods to local delis throughout Norristown, Bridgeport, and Conshohocken, and provided door to door sales to homes in the local area. He later worked for Lee Tire Co., Transicoil and Hale Pump Co. until his retirement. Tony also has his own business of heating oil delivery services.

Tony was a member of the former SS. Cosmas and Damian Church where he and his family were benefactors for many causes and was a current member of Holy Saviour Church and the Holy Saviour Club where he served on the Board of Directors and was active with numerous activities. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Andrew Lannutti Italian American Post in Conshohocken. A longtime resident of West 7th Avenue, his home was known for hosting many events for family and friends, especially 4th of July gatherings. Tony loved to cook. Anyone who visited his home, especially on a Sunday afternoon during family dinners, was treated to a delicious feast and his homemade wine, soppressata, and any number of other homemade Italian dishes. Since his retirement, Tony had dedicated most of his free time as a chef for his friends and family. Tony was known for growing a beautiful and abundant garden and raising many chickens which he had done since his childhood, creating wonderful family memories.

In addition to his wife Maria, he is survived by his 3 children Angelo Bello and wife Susan, Anthony Bello, Jr., and Maria "Tina" Bello, his 5 grandchildren Anthony DeSantis, Mark DeSantis, Jr., Angela DeSantis, Dominic DeSantis, and Anthony Bello, 1 sister Maria Grace Falzone, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Immaculata Martinez, Gina Waddell, Philomena Neve, Teresa Bello, Anna E. Bello Ross, Emilia F. Bello Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Viewing on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA.
