Anthony Jay Butler, 73, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on the morning of November 6, 2025.

Born June 10, 1952, in Carlisle, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph Butler and Rosella (Speck) Butler. Anthony was the devoted husband of 42 years to Kim S. (Adams) Butler.

A graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Anthony proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he built a dedicated career as a Corrections Officer. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post #26 in Dillsburg, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow veterans and friends.

Anthony was a man who loved life's simple joys-camping, listening to music, and taking day trips with his family. A passionate sports fan, he especially loved cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and local football teams. Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays were often filled with football parties surrounded by friends, food, and laughter.

He will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, and the love he shared so generously with family and friends alike.

In addition to his wife, Anthony leaves behind his 1 son, Derrick (wife Holly) Butler; his 1 brother, Alan (wife Beth) Butler; his 2 sisters, Yvonne Lockman and Lori (husband Greg) McGomery; his 2 nephews, AJ Butler and Randy Butler, Jr.; his 2 nieces, Ashley Klinger and Yvette Banks; his great-nieces and great-nephews; and his grand fur baby, Taz.

He was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Stanley Butler.

Anthony will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, with full military honors at the convenience of the family.
