It is with great sadness we announce the death of Anthony M. Canna (Tony) who passed away with his wife at his side on January 3rd, 2024 at the age of 77 after a battle with Cancer.
Tony was the oldest of three boys born to Angelo and Grace Canna of Cairo, NY on July 28th 1946.
He grew up in Cairo and after school he went in the Army, and was stationed in Germany as a Sargeant receiving recognition for Sharpshooting.
He married his wife Dolores Rosamond in 1970 surrounded by family and friends. They later had 2 boys, Anthony, and Christopher.
He worked construction on High-Rise buildings in Albany before starting a 26-year career as a driver and instructor for United Parcel Service. During his time, he made many friends with not only his coworkers but people on his routes.
Many knew him as a hard worker and a "Jack of all trades" as he learned and used many craftsman skills in his time. Most notably for his enjoyment as a woodworker, creating many artisan pieces. He loved to stay active working on projects, learning new things, spending time with his sons and grandchildren.
Tony enjoyed many hobbies and the friends he met doing them. Most notably, he liked Archery, Sporting Clays, and Woodworking. He also enjoyed travelling within the US with friends and to Europe with his brothers and their wives.
He and his wife enjoyed time together making day trips exploring new places, and restaurants often ending the day with a stop at the ice cream shop.
Tony has been described by many as very friendly, happy, helpful and never without a joke!
He is preceded in death by his Father Angelo, Mother Grace, Stepmother Edie, George (Dorothy) Rosamond, Michael Harvilla.
