Anthony Cassano, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on January 13, 2026. Born on May 5, 1930, in New York, Anthony was a man known for his loving nature, his handy skills, and his friendly demeanor that resonated with everyone he met.
Anthony's life was a testament to the power of hard work and devotion. Though his formal education concluded with some high school, he never let that define his capabilities. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as he successfully owned and operated a popular luncheonette, where he was not just the owner but often the cook and the face that greeted the regulars. His time as a cab owner and driver in New York City equipped him with an array of stories and experiences that he loved to share with family and friends. Later in life, he continued to serve his community as a crossing guard and as a deli associate at Shoprite, where his warm smile became a familiar comfort to many.
Anthony's Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his daily actions and providing comfort and strength throughout his journey. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with gardening being a particular passion. His garden was not only a source of pride but also a symbol of his nurturing spirit, as he tended to his plants with the same care and attention he gave to his loved ones. And you could always find Anthony pool side with a cup of tea.
Described by those who knew him as loving, handy, and friendly, Anthony was a man who could fix almost anything and was always willing to lend a hand. His legacy of love is carried on by his beloved wife, Audrey, and their children, Rodney, Jason, April, and Jamie, as well as their respective spouses, Colleen, Julie, and Dominic. Anthony's joy was multiplied by his cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, Michael, Dominick, Zoey, Blake and Connor, and his adored great-grandchildren, Rosalie, Emersyn, Makenzie, and Hunter, who will remember him for his stories, his laughter, and his unwavering support.
Beyond his immediate family, Anthony's memory will be cherished by his nieces, Sharlene, Jamie, and Loreanne, and his nephew, Dominic, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His presence in their lives was a source of stability and love, and his influence will continue to be felt in the years to come.
Anthony's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him. Yet, we are comforted by the knowledge that his life was well-lived and that the values he instilled in us will endure. His was a life marked by an unwavering commitment to his family, his work, and his community-a life that will be remembered with fondness and deep gratitude.
We bid farewell to Anthony Cassano, a man of integrity, kindness, and love. His spirit will forever be a beacon of light for his family, and his memory will be treasured always. Rest in peace, Anthony; your legacy will live on through the many lives you have touched.
