COHOES - Anthony G. D'Angelico, 83, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 19, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Angelo D'Angelico and Marion Bader Gauthier.
Tony was a proud lifelong resident of Cohoes. He was educated in Cohoes schools and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was stationed in Europe during his time in the service, and served on embassy duty in Paris, attaining the rank of Corporal. Returning home, he went to work for Niagara Mohawk for many years until his retirement.
Tony enjoyed being an active member of his community. He was a devout and faithful communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity. He belonged to the Cohoes Alumni Assoc., the Cohoes Historical Society, the Cohoes Waterford Elks Lodge and the Veterans of Lansingburgh.
Most importantly, Tony loved spending time with his family. He had coached their little league games and always enjoyed attending all of his son's, daughter's and granddaughter's sporting events. He also enjoyed taking family trips to Newport, Ogunquit and Lake Placid, as well as working in the yard and around the house.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Margaret "Peggy" Kane D'Angelico; by his son, Anthony D'Angelico and his wife, Megan; by his daughter, Cindy D'Angelico-Boivin and her husband, Erik; by his adored granddaughter, Claire D'Angelico; by his siblings, Norm Gauthier, Michael D'Angelico (Donna), Joey D'Angelico (Christine), Danny D'Angelico (Michele), Michelle Taylor (Ed), Fran Taylor (Bill). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Gerald Kane (Patricia), Donald Kane (Donna); as well as several nieces, nephews and great friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Angelo D'Angelico and Bob Gauthier; and by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Lillian Kane.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 10:30 a.m., from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, and at 11 a.m., in the Church of the Holy Trinity. Inurnment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday, from 4-7 p.m.

I played windmill softball with Tony (and his brother Angie) 50+ years ago for Clairmont's Tavern. What a down to earth, regular guy. I lost touch when I moved away for work, but I remember those days (him especially) very fondly. My condolences to his family - you'll be in my prayers.
