Anthony DeCario Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Anthony "Tony" DeCario of Macungie, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2025, at the age of 41.

Born in Belleville, New Jersey, Tony grew up in Edison, NJ where he graduated from Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School in 2003. Tony enlisted in the Army National Guard in 2008, and served (4) years, and was honorably discharged. During his service he had one combat rotation to Iraq, and earned the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon N, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M. Device.

On May 28, 2016, Tony married the love of his life, Kathryn "Katie" DeCario (nee Hammond). For the past nine years, he worked as a truck driver with KeHE Distributors. Tony's greatest joy was time with his family. A lifelong car enthusiast, he loved attending car shows with Katie, the kids and extended family. He enjoyed playing video games, loved going to the range with family and friends, and loved going to the theater because of his wife Katie. In recent years, the family found a second home with the Fleetwood Community Theatre and Macungie Minstrelaires where they participated together in numerous productions including the Fleetwood Variety Show where he sang a solo. He was involved in group numbers, and stage crew for both theater groups.

Tony is survived by his wife, Katie; his two sons, Paul N. DeCario and Jacob "Jake" Hammond; his parents, Frank G. DeCario and Agnes V. DeCario of Fords, NJ; and his five siblings: Michele L. Martel of Bethlehem, PA; Michael A. DeCario of Lakewood, WA; Nicole L. DeCario of Seattle, WA; Christine M. DeCario of Fords, NJ; and Dannielle Szuba of Keansburg, NJ. He is also survived by his nephew Stephen C. Centeno, and his nieces Anissa L Centeno and Lilah M. Jensen and cousin, Michael (Mikey) Fox.

Services: Memorial 6 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Streets, Allentown. A calling period will be 3-6 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
