Anthony L. DeCero 85, from Lockport, Illinois, formerly of the Southeast side of Chicago, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born on June 25, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois to Alfred and Mary (Niksich) DeCero. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred, mother Mary and brother, Daniel. Tony was a loving and devoted husband to Kathleen (Harman) for sixty-three years and a loving father to his sons Anthony, Joseph (Sylvia) and Daniel (Kathryn). Tony was a loving grandfather to Michael (Haley), Nicholas, Gianna, Natalie, Daniel, Matthew, Nadine, and Katelyn and Great- grandfather to Ellis, Augustus and Vincent. Tony was a Chicago Police Officer with thirty plus years of meritorious service serving in K-9, Detective Area 2, 4th District Patrolman. Tony was an avid golfer for many years but his true joy in his life was his family. A wonderful and loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
