Kurtz Memorial Chapel - New LenoxAnthony J. Del Priore, Jr., age 74, passed away on December 9, 2025. Born in Blue Island, Illinois, Anthony lived a life marked by curiosity, dedication, and a deep love for family. He touched the lives of all who knew him through his warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the people he cherished.
One of Tony’s greatest passions was researching and preserving his family trees. He approached genealogy with devotion and precision, ensuring that the stories, histories, and connections of generations past would be remembered and treasured. He organized large family reunions every year, bringing relatives from near and far together, and he especially looked forward to Sunday family dinners, where stories were shared and new memories were made.
Tony had a deep love for history and could often be found watching the History Channel. His daughters fondly remember waking up to the sounds of historical documentaries drifting through the house on weekend mornings—a soundtrack that became part of their childhood. He also loved oldies music and was always ready to take his daughters by the hand for a dance, creating moments of joy they will carry with them forever.
To those who knew him best, Tony carried with him a deep devotion to family, heritage, and the pursuits that brought him joy. His gentle spirit, steady presence, and thoughtful nature left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to share in his life.
Tony is survived by his two daughters, Gina (Nick) McDonald and Lisa Del Priore; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Anthony, and Nicholas; his sister, Denice (late Mike) Heeney; and his nephews, Michael Heeney and Matthew Heeney. They will forever carry his memory and the family history he so lovingly preserved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Sr. and Nancy Del Priore, and his brother-in-law, Michael Heeney. Visitation for Anthony will be held Sunday December 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 Francis Road, New Lenox Illinois 60451, where family and friends will gather to honor his life and reflect on the legacy he leaves behind. Friends and Family will be asked to meet directly Monday morning December 15th at St. Julie Billiart Roman Catholic Church, 7399 West 159th Street Tinley Park Illinois 60477, for 9:00 AM Visitation followed by the 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
Tony’s dedication, kindness, and passion for family history will continue to live on through the generations he connected. He will be laid to rest alongside his beloved parents at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery of Alsip. May His Memory Be Eternal! All arrangements entrusted to Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc.
