Anthony DiPalma, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, died on September 8, 2012. He was 84. Mr. DiPalma was born in the Bronx on August 18, 1928 to the late Michele and Carmela (LaGuardia) DiPalma. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars. On May 15, 1954 he married Mary Martinelli. For many years before his retirement he worked as an agent for Prudential Insurance Agency- and most recently he worked as a guide at the Botanical Gardens. In addition to his wife Mary he is survived by two daughters, Laura Schwartz and her husband Joseph and Toni Ann Froner and her husband Robert; three grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Froner and Keighley Young; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth DiPalma and Gena Foley and her husband John; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by two brothers, Frank DiPalma and his wife Frances and Gennaro DiPalma. Visiting Tuesday 2-5 & 7-9pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:15am at Our Lady of Solace Church, 731 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations in his name to the New York Botanical Gardens, 2900 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, New York 10458.
