Anthony R. Garski

Anthony Garski, age, 89, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Hilltop Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 11, 2024 at11:00am at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Visitation will take place on Wednesday July 10, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ritchay Funeral Home, and on Thursday July 11, from 10:00am until the time of service.
Anthony was born on April 1, 1935, to Anton and Rose (Norlock) Garski in Stockton, WI. He attended St. Joseph's grade school and PJ Jacob's high school in Stevens Point, WI.
Anthony met the love of his life, Janet VanWormer and they were married July 2, 1955, at St. Josephs in Stevens Point.
Anthony enjoyed camping, playing horseshoes, going fishing, hunting deer and waterfowl with his family and friends. He was also an avid Brewer and Packer fan.
He joined the Army May 23rd, 1956 and proudly served for 26 years; 24 with the National Guards.
Anthony is survived by his children, Robert (Linda), Michael (Dawn), and Mark (Kellie); grandchildren, Jason (Darlene) Garski, Casey (Kyle) Thompson, Alyssa (Josh) Schilling, Jordan (Kayla) Garski, Ben (Dani) Garski, Nick Garski (Zach Meddaugh), Derek Garski, and Riley Garski; eight great grandchildren,
in laws, Christine Garski, Gerry Garski, Sue (Dennis) Kromenaker, and Marianne Timm; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet; son, Daniel (Cindy); parents, brothers, Ed, John, Frank, Bill, Leo, Ben, and Don; sisters, Agnes and Bernice; in laws, Gene Timm, Dave and Patricia VanWormer, Jean and Wayne Crueger, Richard VanWormer, and Dorothy and Les Heath.
Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
