Anthony “Archie” Gauthier, aged 74, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born on May 27, 1951, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Mary Beatrice Guerin Gauthier and John Howard Gauthier.
Archie worked as a carpenter for most of his life. He loved to cook, play golf and tennis, watch T.V., and spend time with his friends and family.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Beatrice Guerin Gauthier and John Howard Gauthier; and brother, John H. Gauthier.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jo Ann Gauthier; daughters, Glenna Gauthier and Eva H. Mizell; son, George L. Haas III; sister, Norma Ann Sterling; grandchildren, Marissa Mizell, Kiersten Mizell, Phoebe Mizell, Grace Mizell, Eden Mizell, Elijah Haas, John Haas, Isabella Haas, Alexandria Gauthier, Addison Washington, Brooklyn Washington, and Charlie Washington. He is also survived by many godchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 10:00-11:00 AM, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the ER and ICU staff at Ochsner Hospital, and the staff at Fresenius Medical Care, for the care and support during this difficult time.
